Description

William Cox was the son of John Cox and Frances Birchfield who came to Mo from Pa. William (shown) grew up in Stone County. He fought on the Union side in the Civil War. His 2nd wife Mary Parsons is shown. When she died in 1886 he wed a Mrs. Hendricks from Ponce de Leon. William was the president of the first bank in Stone County, and was also a sheriff of Stone County. He lived in the Oto Ridge area for a number of years--------------although he actually resided in a number of homes in his long life.
