Description

Tom Hornbeak (1851-1920) was a son of James F. Hornbeak; who married Ozarks native Matilda Farmer (1856-1944). Matilda's parents were Amon O. Farmer (1821-1901) and Ina Pike (1819-1908) of the Linden-Sparta area. Tom moved to Rogersville before 1900 and became a successful merchant there. In this early 1900s photo Tom and Matilda (in front) are joined by daughters--with married names shown. From left; Bess Rush, Georgia Breedlove, Mabel Dawson, Myrtle Hornbeak (not married).
