Civil War veteran Thomas Norman (1829, VA-1921). He left St. Clair County, Mo with his 3rd wife and family to come to the Ponce de Leon district about the time the 1880's boom hit. But he likely first came to the district to farm, for it was not until 1895 that he opened a store in Ponce. Known as "Squire" Norman. He ended up outliving all 3 of his wives. His wife that came with him and the children to Stone County was Alzora Francis (she died in 1911).
